Accessibility Statement for Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning

The Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Measures to support accessibility

Future Ready Iowa takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning website and app:

  • Provide ongoing accessibility training for our staff.
  • Include people with disabilities in our design personas.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Levels A, AA, and AAA. The Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level A and partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA and AAA. 

Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA success criteria: 

  • All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes.
  • Timing is not an essential part of the event or activity presented by the content, except for non-interactive synchronized media and real-time events.
  • Section headings are used to organize the content.

Accessibility of the Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
