From former missile base to local AEA headquarters building – students at Griswold HS researched the historical path between these two functions.

This project had students at DC-G digging into the question, “How do businesses foster collective efficacy to drive efficient restaurant management?”

This solo project entailed a student in the Spark Tank program building a slidedeck for the community programs director at Ottumwa CSD.

Students from the SOAR program at Bondurant-Farrar designed a social media outreach plan for local business partner, Kaleidohope.

Students had a main focus to help people who are older live a healthier lifestyle through eating right, easy exercises that aren’t hard to do , and strengthening the mind to live a happier life overall.

Students worked with the Friends of Ottumwa Parks Organization to highlight the main parks in Ottumwa: Wildwood, Ottumwa, Memorial, and Sycamore. Each park needed its own video (30-60 seconds long) showcasing all of the activities and amenities presented.

East Allamakee students met with the business partner to hear wants/needs, budget, vision for the advertisement. Then they conducted research and developed prototypes before gathering feedback and making adjustments.

The East of Omaha music venue reached out to the Communication Arts class at Griswold to help develop a design plan for a series of murals.

A student in Ottumwa’s SparkTank program collaborated to create a website that would promote, inform, and allow for register for the upcoming Babe Ruth World Series.

Working with the West Union WasteWater Treatment plant, students research different materials to determine the best combination of materials for a new sign.

At Okoboji Middle School’s No Boundaries program, students seek to answer “How can students engage with community partners to beautify the outdoor campus of the new school?”

This project was originally created as an authentic learning experience for Boyer Valley students as proposed by KDSN Radio from Denison IA, but it was also created out of necessity due to COVID-19 attendance restrictions at school sporting events in the Winter of 2021.

Students in the Applied Sciences (Building Trades) courses at Solon will coordinate with a local Feed Mill and a local Lumber Supply Company to research, choose, refine, propose and construct a design for a model Backyard Chicken Cabin to be displayed at the Feed Mill.

At Hopewell Elementary third-graders worked with business professionals both locally and at the national level to engage in problem-based inquiry on sea turtles.
